Thousand Waves is a huge part of our lives. We've grown up here, training along with kids and adults from all over Chicago. By the time of this year's Spirit Challenge week, we will both be Jr Nidan rank (Kumiko's test is 4/21; Takato's was last fall) and we will have trained here for a full 7 years. We're learning how to teach younger karate students, and we're continuing to strengthen our own training.
Most importantly, though, Thousand Waves is a NONPROFIT karate, self-defense, violence prevention dojo. No one is turned away due to inability to pay. Quite honestly, that's amazing.
Spirit Challenge is how we can help. By raising money for the scholarship fund, we know that people who seek strength & courage here will be able to access it. As the week approaches, we'll post a video reflection; for now, please help us to meet or exceed our fundraising goals! Osu!
