$619 towards $300

I've been at Thousand Waves since I was 4 years old. The dojo is very important to me, there I learned how to be kind and respectful, how to defend myself and others, and has helped make me who I am today. I cherish Thousand Waves and the community there. I have taken multiple practical self-defense courses along with many other people at the dojo, and I am a volunteer at the Adapted Seido Karate Program, which allows dojo members to help teach youth with disabilities karate, as well as get to know them as people. The Spirit challenge fundraiser supports Thousand Waves' work in three critical areas:

1. Scholarships, which provide funding for children and adults who wouldn't otherwise be able to study karate or self-defense.

2. Adapted Seido Karate (ASK), a partnership with Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago that teaches karate to youth with disabilities.

3. Self-Defense/Violence Prevention, which provides Self-defense and Bystander Intervention workshops and courses for everyone who needs all over the city.

Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $300 so we can support these programs in their missions to help people. Thank you!!
