Thousand Waves is a mission-driven not-for-profit in Chicago that has been active for over 32 years with a mission to foster fitness, healing, empowerment, and peace making.

Karate has made me a better person in many ways. Now that I have been at Thousand Waves for almost 3 years I have learned to say something when someone is being bullied. I know to only use my weapons when I need them but to use my voice otherwise.

Everytime I walk in the door of Thousand Waves I feel like people care about me and that they are going to help me improve as a person and my techniques.

Spirit Challenge Fundraiser supports Thousand Waves' work in three critical areas that let anyone raning from youth with disabilities (ASK) and famlies that would not be able to do karate without your support. Thousand Waves also does self-defense and bystander intervention workshops all over the city.

This event is the biggest fundraiser that we have all year. With your support we can get one step closer to being able to have more workshops and grow our ASK program even larger.

Thousand Waves' name comes from the Japanese saying "One wave saets thousands in motion." When you support our fundraiser others will want to support too.

Thank you for supporting me and Thousand Waves.
