Willa Marie and Zak's Fundraiser

Thank you for supporting Thousand Waves
Your generous contributions will help us maintain access and affordability in our karate and self-defense programs during the challenge of the pandemic
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Thousand Waves has supported me through my entire life, making me who I am today. My practice has brought me maturity, discipline and a strong sense of non-quitting spirit. During the pandemic, things have been incredibly difficult for so many different organizations, my dojo among them. However, our leaders did a fantastic job of keeping our community strong by moving all of our classes outdoors into the Chicago parks. I was even able to have the amazing experience of testing for Black Belt with my community beside me in Warren Park. During the winter months, we are determined to keep our dojo strong even though the pandemic will continue to make things very challenging in terms of getting new members and training outdoors. For all of these reasons, I am participating in this fundraiser, asking you to help support me and my dojo through this difficult time. I will be co-leading a punch-and-kick-a-thon for the community at the end of this month as a celebration for our efforts! That is hundreds of punches and kicks that I will dedicate to my family and friends that helped me meet my fundraising goal!
From Thousand Waves;
Thank you for supporting Thousand Waves mission to foster fitness, healing, empowerment and peacemaking.
We have continued to serve members throughout the pandemic, maintaining our commitment to access and affordability by providing scholarships to all who need them. But doing so is increasingly difficult - current economic realities have hit organizations like ours, which rely on in-person services, especially hard. Our fundraising efforts will sustain our capacity to attract and retain a diverse membership and help us restart our self-defense program.
With all my love,
Willa Marie
